Low oil pressure warning light

Vectra 2.2 petrol 2002 have just bought car, no oil warning light showing on dash have replaced sensor on engine block still no good.

started to chase wiring (blue with yellow tracer on sensor) expected to find same colour at engine loom plug on nearside chasis rail but no joy have no continuity from sensor to any of the pins in this plug does any one have a wiring diagram or any ideas.

So have you got low oil, but its not lighting up?

the low oil pressure light does not come on at all even when you first turn the igntion on before starting the engine. i also took the instruments out to check for a failed bulb but could not see where there was one fitted.

Hi Martin...If you can post up your cars engine no,i might have a wiring diagram for it...

Its a z22se mate.

if i remember corectly this is due to a faulty instrument pack....have seen it a few times ...you wont find a signal wire to the instruments for the oil sensor as it is a can bus signal.....you may need to get it put on a tech two and see if there are any codes or it points to a faulty ecu ..or you could just have a faulty switch .? ......

It says "Control indicator lights up when the ignition is switched on (does not apply to engine Z22SE)"

It's a feature Trying to find the FR that mentions it as well, but that's taking a bit longer

It's FR1461.

Complaint: Oil pressure lamp - No functional check after ignition on
Cause : It's a new strategy at GM that a functional check will not be performed (Z22SE only). For that reason it's no malfunction.
Production: As of MY2003 the strategy will be switched back to the old strategy, i.e. a functional check will be performed.
