Thanks for the advice fellas, but does anyone have a phone number for Vauxhall Customer Services? I've looked on their website, but can only find an email address. I want to speak to someone to put my point across forcibly and NOT be fobbed off with a lame email.

At the very least, they should be making a % offer for repairs/replacment if they say they aren't responsible for the whole cost.

Have just got off the blower from Vx Customer Services fearing the worst.

Shockingly, they have agreed to pay 100% of the cost of replacing the air-con unit! That's a saving for me of about £1000!!

Stupidly, they told me that the dealer said it was a manufacturing fault, so I argued it must have been defective when the car was made. I also pointed out that it must be difficult to make it fail due to wear and tear.

All I have to do now is take it to the stealers and they'll fit it for free.

That'll probably be the first and last time I have any work done without having to pay through the nose!!!

VX aircon is crap, I had mine re-gassed twice in 14 mths, couldn't find a fault or a leak, and if you search I'm not the only one, the truth is that they have a very expensive part fault and to re-gas each time is cheaper than admitting there is a fault.
