    Default Which Tyres?

Currently got Goodyear NCT5's 215/50R 17 W (original fitment) on my 2006 2.2 Elite. Front's amost down to the twi limit. Not been impressed with them at all in the 5,000 miles I've had the car.

Previous Vectra (2004 Elegance) had Bridgestone Turanza's ER30's on and these stuck to the road much better, IMHO.

So, shall I go back to Bridgestones, or has anyone got any other suggestions of something else in a similar price range?

    Cheers.

If you want good milage, then the ER300 is the best. Quieter than the ER30.

If you want downright performance, then the RE050 is the job. I've run them on my last 2 cars, and they'll be going on this one to replace the total junk on it at the moment (Conti Sport 2 on the back, Vredstein Ultrac on the front)

Or you can go for the Goodyear Excellence which I quite like, though a bit softer handling than the Bridgestones.

have a look through the forums bud..loads of tyre threads... and go for the other vx size 225/45/17..lots more choice..
very good reports and can confirm the goodyear f1's or for a decent budget but very good performance falfen fk452's..
loads to choose..have aproper look through before you splash the cash..
all goes on the amount you are willing to pay but remember its what keeps your car on the tarmac!!

Cheapest Bridgestone ER300's I've found so far on line are approx £100 to £110 each not fitted. Last time my local Vaux dealer charged me £6.50 each fitting and balancing.

If I order online and chose to them fitted by one of their approved companies it's something like £230 to £250 for 2.

Does this sound like a good price, or has anyone got any cheaper recommendations?

That's why most change to 225/45/17 as listed in the handbook as an alternative size
