Me and the wife with another couple went in august 2006 stayed in a hostel was dead cheap but a good laff.went to the guinness factory recommend that. Also did lots of .It is a very nice place for a weekend trip.
It was a Guiness gift pack that i got as part of a christmas present that gave me the idea!
I can get the flights cheap enough i'm just looking for a decent hotel now.
I have been loads of times with the last being for the Ryder cup in september '06 - I really like the place and the people are very friendly but unfortunatly they feel the need to take the pish with their prices especially in temple bar where we were regularly getting charged 15-20 euro's for 2 drinks
Try the jury's as they are usually pretty good over there
temple bar area is a must , a bit pricey though ,
stayed n a hotel at other end of connel st , bit of a walk (stagger)
though

Look up Wynns hotel. A few members of my family have stayed there and love it. In fact it's www.wynnshotel.ie

we are going in september this year and as a group of 10 lad's we are looking at this place...
brownshotelireland.com
give the caulfield arms hotel a look its about 10 mins from temple bar just not as expensive as closer hotels although as been posted prices for drinks get more expensive as nite goes i think after each hour they go up abit more in price
Not sure about a hotel in Dublin, but what a place for a weekend!!
We used to do a lot of Ireland for a company i used to work for, and the stories i could tell you about Dublin are almost unbelievable! Aside from Amsterdam, it is probably the best place in Europe for a weekend away.
Sorry for the slightly off topic comment.
Dublin is a great place though, i would highly reccomend it.
