    Default Vauxhall Signum RIP!!

Yes the Signum is dead, a friends who's dad works for Vauxhall SVO has taken delivery of one of the last Signums as his company car.

Apparently Signum and much of Vectra C production has stopped!!!

As many people are slowly realising what a good car the Signum is, I wonder if second hand values will get better over the next couple of years, just like the old Senator did!!

The main problem the Signum always had was standing in its own right above the Vectra, (pretty much like this site its an "add-on", when it should be on its own).
Tis a pity, always liked them, more so since sitting in Duncans last year.

I remember Clarkson talking about the Omega and stating it was the best car to be in the back of, the Signum appeared better than an Omega too...

Not the first relationship like this between two cars
. The Signum is to the Vectra what the Orion was to the Escort and what the Saphire was to Sierra.

Like the cars mentioned above I never figured what the purpose of the Signum was - what did it do, that Vauxhall couldn't make work in a Vectra?

Still i don't doubt probably was a good car.

After owning a pre facelift and a facelift Vectra C, and a Signum, the Signum is bolted together better.

Fitting the towbar for example, in the Vectra, 2 screws and the boot side panels pull out, in the Signum you have about 8 screws, the carpet is bolted down to the floor and so on.

Apart from the crap centre seat, the Signum has no down sides compared to a Vectra.

I see where you're coming from but the cars you mention are just the saloon or hatchback versions with different names.

The Signum is rather different to a Vectra, it's draw back IMHO has always been the fact it's really a 4 seater. If you need the space and have a family/transport people around then you're better off with the Vectra Estate. All the space you need AND 5 seats.

    Just my opinion

Well the Signum is more of a luxury car than a sporty model, there is no SRI or VXR Signum, and i believe that a Signum has more toys in it compared to its respective Vectra counterpart.

They shot themselves in the foot with this one, the car should've had it's own front end from the word go, and that rear seat stopped at least 10k of them becoming cabs and getting the punter wow from them, and it does happen, ppl used to swoon over my Omega's and I've had at least 3 ppl considering getting a Superb after seeing what it has to offer, like salesppl will tell you, half a sale is getting the punters bum on the seat.

I wonder if a Vectra estate rear seat and belts could be sub'd for the Sig's ones.

The beauty of the Sig back seat is not only does it recline but it slides individually each side as well so you can shorten the copious leg room and have a bit bigger boot, plus the Travel assist sits nicely on the worthless centre bench!!

    RIP SIGGIES!!!

Each to their own eh reclining seats would be pointless to me with the kids seats in, and most people after a car of that size are looking for a family orientated motor again, IMO

Also, it doesn't help that VX smacked the Signum's arse with an ugly stick pmsl
