    Default Good Value Computer ???

Just been playing on the Dell website and looking at a new home PC. This one I currently use I have had for a good 5 years now and I built it.

However not really been into computers since and have lost track of the market, is it cheaper to build still or is this spec from Dell for £600 good value or not.

Anyone got any suggestions or alternatives

that's roughly the spec i just built for roughly the same price.
plus with that you get dell support.
only thing that lets it down is the graphics card but it's not exactly a dud.

i brought all my parts from www.scan.co.uk

Thats no bad i would say but I myself build my own machines and understand where you are coming from as well as hardware you need to pay for software - which is not cheap and OEM Licenses are now fast becoming grey areas - so yes go for it.

But I will warn you that DELL machines are not entirly like normal PC's inside though but then again you will be under warranty.

    hi
build your own a lot cheaper then you think and you get exactly what you need.
brought one years ago and cost £1,000.
and within 6 months built my own a lot better for half the amount.
with a big family like i have got, my kids need a computer for lots of things so i have 4 computers (all on internet)in my house and built them all myself.

    very easy to do

Plus you learn so much. I built my new one myself and must have spent a good 50 quid on magazines and reading the net reviews about all the compnents to choose the best that I could afford that would also last - as such my motherboard is compatible with all the new intel chips coming out this year, it's got 4Gb of RAM and is overclocked and runs stabily with Vista ultimate...

    Watercooling it this week too....
