    Default stereo says safe

    Hi,

could anyone help me my stereo now says safe on it, this happend when i replaced the battery, i havnt got the code for it as i bought it second hand and the booklet didnt come with it.

ive tried holding the as, rds and uml buttons etc and researched off the net, but it is no good without the code, how can i get hold of the code? ive even bought a radio decoder from ebay and that does not work.

i took it to the dealers and they said that they will have to have the car for a few days but i need the car. can somebody give me any advise please the stereo is a delco elecronics cdr500

Go to ebay, type in vauxhall radio codes and you will find a couple of guys will tell you the code for your radio if you give them the seriel number, and a couple of quid.

The only way you're going to get it working again if you have no code is take it to a place that decodes them, did it to mine when first bought it as had the same thing happen, they take it out of the car and decode it for you within 1 hour, dont need to leave the car with them, cost was 24.99,its the only way.....

if you phone a vx dealer and give them the reg or chassie number then can get the cars code pack for £15-£20 then once you get the code with the sterio off and ignition on hold in the as and then turn the igition on then it will allow you to put the sterio in hope this helps m8

If you have the service book, look inside the front to see where it was PDIed , give them a phone and you might get lucky.

Any Vx dealer can give you the code for FREE!!!

It will be on the database and as long as the radio is the same one as when the car was built then it should be available.
I've done it recently with my works Ford Transit, my old works Peugeot and a couple of others in recent years.
