Default Help! Where did my miles go?

I had not driven the car since Sunday Night (30/12/2007) and climbed into the car today and when a turned the ignition on I was greeted with the oil can with spanner through it (service light).

Yes ok the car serviced 14000miles, but what i am asking about is when the service miles were checked (last week) and i check them frequently as i do 20,000+ per year it was sitting at 6,000miles - well the 14,000 + 6,000miles do add up to the service interval car is allowed.

Can anyone give some advice - would be most grateful.

Mine only manages 16k per service. It works by monitoring your oil, the harder you drive the faster the oil degrades/gets contaminated so the faster the service comes around.

There is a known issue with some cars where the service light comes on sooner than expected - needs a software fix to sort it if it keeps doing it.

All you can do is reset the service light so it doesn't keep coming on, but make sure you make a note as to when it's due for the service.

How do you check the miles for the next service?

Unlock car and with the ignition off press and hold the trip reset button, miles to next service will now appear in display.

This will only work if the car is set to eco-flex service intervals (or whatever the manual calls it)
