    Default alternator again!!!

it's that damm denso alternator gone up the swanny again!! its been re-worked new(diod's) fitted at 19k now at 32k its shafted me again (when you need it +its cold, i had a re-con yesterday and fitted it and that aint working either so i went to vx and asked if they are still fitting the same ones or revamped/different type with the reg+alt-sticker details he went to search data bearing in mind i had been fobbed off before hence my previous action, he came back with a list that contained serial no's of which mine fell in the middle range, you can have a new one came the reply even though your warrenty is up thats if its orriginal and not been touched!!!!! under breath ****** ******* ***** i still had the original he was'nt bothered if it was on or off the car but it had to be original or if found to be different under warrenty/recall claim would be invalid costing £400 i didnt ask if that was fitted ,i replied ill see if i can route it out.but its had new diods fitted now! take the risk or pay £400 + fit it myself caus i suspect it will be a sight more if found invalid......and/or they do it????

lets hope your serial 'no' didnt end in 40 or is in the same batch of 6500 faulty ones cos it wont last vx should replace it with a brand new one not rework, free of charge as i was told today but it looks as if i will have to buy a new 1 from vx as its not in original condition????.

    Default

i know this is an old post but i have just had the same problem with my 150bhp zafira 06 on 46000 miles when i rang the local dealers they denied there ever being a fault and told me to contact the main vauxhall number they too denied all knowledge .i'm a bit peed off cos i had my wife and 4 kids in the car when i was doing 60mph when the battery light blinked and then the electrics shut off with the engine still running luckily the road wasn't busy so i managed to grip the wheel and get it to safety i dread to think what could've happened.which dealers did you deal with that know about the faults?
i have since contacted bbc watchdog to escalate this problem further because it could kill somebody
