Default DMF, Who's got the rattle when the clutch is lightly pressed ??

    1.9 Cdti 150 54 plate 84k

After reading up on here, I noticed that i have a rattle from the gearbox when the clutch pedal is lightly pressed in neutral. (Sounds like a rattly release bearing)

So how many others owners have this (Check with your Stereo off )

How long until it gets progressively worse ??

Is this a recall item as stated by some people on here ??

    Expected cost to cure ??

    Thanks V Much.

DMF by the sounds of it mate. Have you any warranty left (would imagine it will be about a month at the most if you have)

I think it is 3yrs or 60K so well out of it. I will have to let it develop, Just wondering how rapidly or not they do start to rattle more ??

    Cheers

Hi mate, I have a 03 2.0Dti Ls with 116,000 on the clock. I bought it Dec 06 with 101,000 and it had a slight rattle like you describe, just when you rested your foot on the clutch, but when totally off clutch - no rattle and no rattle when clutch pressed in.

As I said it now has 116,000 on it and the rattle is still there and still the same, no worse, no better.

So I guess mine has not got any worse over the last year.

    Cheers Tim.

I have noticed now on really cold nights (Morning After) it does rattle when first started until the car gets a bit of heat in it, Then it stops & can only be heard when lightly pressing the clutch. Before i bite the bullet & replace, I will see how it develops

    Cheers

Why replace something that's still working?
Wait until you have to replace the clutch otherwise it's just unecessary expense.

True, It's just the rattles that annoy me !!! I do like things to be right !
Though having a Ducati Air Cooled Twin you would of thought i would be immune to rattles by now

I have a rattle when starting from cold which disappears when nclutch is depressed, exactly the same as when they replaced the flywheel and clutch at 23k, and again at 39k, the car has now done just 54k.
