    Default Washer Fluid level sensor???

Yesterday I cleaned the washer motor filter but now I have a permanent warning about the fluid level even though the bottle is full. Are the sensor and wiring connections down near pump or is this just a coincidence??

What kind of light will show that. I don't find any light for washer fluid level neither on manual. Is it possible to retrofit?

its not a warning light that comes on, its a warning message that come up on the dash display saying the washer fluid level is low, same as the coolant level/bulb warning and the nice little message that warns you about slippery roads when you have just spent 5 minutes scraping ice of the car

I wonder if the sensor is sticking? I have not taken mine apart yet, so I am not sure what is inside.

It could be sticking just seemed a bit coincidental that it happened the day after I cleaned the motor filter - maybe the wiring is routed near the motor but the washers are working ok so if something has been disconnected I don't know what it is!

Is there any way to clear these warning messages?

My front fog light warning has been on for about six months, the bulb is fine because it was intermittent at first, when the car went in for a service I asked them to check it out they said the connectors had rusted a bit and they cleaned them, everything was fine for two days then back to 'Front Fog Light' message again, im not bothered enough about paying to get it fixed as i never use my fog lights, but i'm sick and tired of clearing the message everytime i turn the ignition!

The washer level warning sensor sticks straight out the the washer bottle near to the bottom, a few inches way from the pump - it's the only other thing on the bottle besides the pump unless you have headlight washers which I think have their own pump.

The sensor has a wiring connector coming out of it. First thing would be to check the connector is dry inside and pushed on firmly. Failing that, the sensor may be stuck or faulty.

Regarding the bulb failure warning, the only way to get rid of the light is probably to get rid of the problem as the warning wil disappear as soon as you do. Take the light apart, clean all the metal contact areas with electrical contact cleaner, fit a new bulb, and see how it goes. I doubt it is possible to disable the bulb warning system but you could ask a dealer. You'd lose all warnings for all bulbs so it would not be ideal.

Excuse the resurrection, but seemed silly starting new thread.
Just a heads up, I just cleaned my washer bottle filter too, and also had the sensor play up afterwards. So I got back under the arch and just gave the sensor's connector a wiggle, which in turn I assume wiggled the actual sensor float inside the bottle, and it fixed it. Could've been the float, could've been the electrical connection, who knows. One thing I did think of though, the sensor is in a round grommet, and from photos I've seen the float is on a hinge, so I suppose reasonable effort has to be made to ensure the sensor doesn't get twisted too much in its grommet, making it then operate on an angle, making it more likely to get stuck possibly?
