signum boot stuck

hi my signum boot wont open i have read your advise but no one says about it being stuck and wont open at all the micro switch works fine its the latch i think it wont release but how do i get it open to replace it
vauxhall say smash it open what do you think

Tell Vauxhall they can pay for the damage they cause then...

Cna you get insidee and release it from the inside, may involve some taking off of interior panels though..

Have you got the manual release on the inside of the boot? You should do being an 03...

wont even open from the lock bit inside i really dont know what to try next

So you've got the manual release inside then? So what happens when you pop a key/screwdriver in it and turn it? Does nothing happen?

thats the bit i have tryed with no joy

it turns but wont release the latch

Hmmm, not good. Does sounds like the latch is the problem, stuck in the closed position. Just in case it's somehow electronics related, although the manual release should still work if that was the case, maybe worth disconnecting the battery for a bit to see if it makes a difference. If not then I'm a bit stumped as to what to suggest. To get into the trim of the tailgate it needs to be open.

thanks lads just sorted it i got a big screw driver and forced the latch open and it was a bit of rubber pipe what was causing it to stick works fine now and i cleaned the micro switch out while i was at it

Mine half unlocks when u press the tailgate switch in the car and then gets stuck in the half open half locked bit, any thoughts
