    Default Traction control switch

    Hi Fella's,
I have just fitted the traction control switch to my 1.9 cdti sxi, to see if it works.

i pressed the button and pulled away a bit quick
    (on a private road officer)
the t/c light appeared on the dash and slowed me down.
so i pulled over pressed the button again and tried again still the t/c light appeared and slowed me down.
Does this mean it won't work on my particular model?

If when you press the switch the TV light comes on solid(no flashing) the switch works if it doesn't the switch doesn't work. I don't know if it can be Tech 2'd on or not.

What they said, if the TC light doesn't stay on when the switch is pushed then it won't work on your car and it can't be Tech 2'd either.

There is a plug fitted into the dashboard, and the switch fits dirrectly into the plug. If you get some "blu tac" and fasion it into a blob, then press it onto the switch blank and pull, the blank should come out and not cause any damage.

Yeh, cos on the facelifts TC is only standard (bundled in with ESP) on V6-engined Vectras. You can't switch TC on or off if the car never had it to begin with.

just had a look at mine when i turn the key and no TC light... so can guess it's one without the TC...

although saying that, the mondeo was only 130bhp with lower torque and the wheels used to spin at the slightest thing, even with new tyres, so guess they must have got something right to reduce the initial torque...
