    Default 10w40 or 5w30 Grade oil in a 54 plate Cdti 150 ?

    54 plate 1.9 Cdti 150 Estate. (Z19DTH) @ 83k Miles

Whilst enquiring about Dpf's i then turned up this !!.

My car has full Vx S-History & according to the history has always had 10w40 oil @ 20k intervals !!
The handbook also states 10w40 & says 5w30 for petrol engines only !!

Now alledgedly cars with the Dpf fitted should use 5w30 due to sulphur content & Vx has shortened the service intervals to 10k.!

So why has main continually had 10w40 used & at 20k intervals ??

What do you Cdti owners use & at what interval ??

    Cheers

    Dean

    For a 1.9 CDTi 150 it's either 0W30 or 5W40 Fully Synthetic.

To be honest it's the same oil for a 2.2 DTI as well

    Hi.

It's an Ex Fleet car & is now my personal one.
As like you, I would never run a car for that length of time. I just want to get the correct grade from the start .. The car has now done 83k & according to the service book is due again at 87k which is 20k since the last

    Cheers

    Hmm.

So it would appear that mine has been serviced at the incorrect intervals & had the wrong grade of oil used !!!
I wonder if a chat to Vauxhall Customer Service would be of any benifit ??
