Default Anyone recommend a good ext network drive

As the title says can anyone recomend a very good external network hard-drive, ive been looking everywhere but cant decide which one to buy, i want it for storing stuff off all 4 p.c`s in the house, all the music, vids and images along with some other stuff.

Needs to be a good capacity along with a good brand.

    Cheers peeps.

Loads about, the Buffalo Terastation and Linkstation ranges are about the best pre-made or if you fancy something a it more techy take a look at a Synology unit and get some Samsung drives to put in it.

I've got the Buffalo Linkstation Live 1Tb NAS, excellent piece of hardware and dead easy to set up. PDF data sheet here. Plug the ethernet cable in the drive the other end in to the router and use the software to access it over the network.

What they said! I've had a TeraStation Pro 1Tb for a while now and it's a cracking bit of kit. If you get the Live version it will also act as a streamer. You'll forego one or two of the fancier networking features of the Pro by going for the Live, but you probably won't find it an issue.

Make sure its a 3.5 inch drive in a prebuilt one, or build one yourself. The smaller laptop drives don't last as long and network drives are often left on 24/7. As least mine is.

The 2.5 inch drives last about 4-5months (western digital), the 3.5's bout a year. (Never ever turned off)
