    Default 2.2 sri -2.0 T ?

Ok guys heres my problem. Bought a 06 2.2 sri last january now dont get me wrong its a great car quick off the mark but i tend to find it slow in higher gears. Was thinking of trading it in with vx for a 2.0 t but just wondered if anyone could tell me if its worth it ie is it alot quicker, whats the petrol difference etc? Iv had a look on net q etc and the prices are around the 10k mark now for an 06 or even 07 used 20t. Would vx do a straight swap if the prices matched or am i living in a dream world?

You ask is it faster LOL A lot faster mate the torque difference between the two is a lot and the 2.0T keeps pulling even at high speed. Also the tuning options are a lot lot better.

May be only £10000 screen price but as soon as you buy it, it's worth £7500. That's why they try to sell you GAP insurance !

I think the turbo does 32mpg combined & the 2.2 does 35 mpg combined.

Still pulling at high speed....I take it that must mean from 120 through to 140?
A good 2.2 direct with the usual mods will fly through to 120 it's after it takes things a little slower. Obviously it's only past or present owners of the Direct block say 05 on that can tell you this, and it's also something thats doubted by anybody who doesn't own one or who hasn't been in one say on a track day,or is of course a VX Mechanic, and the joy is there's no costly possible turbo problems to worry about. That said give me the new Audi 2.0t any day of the week

Only speaking of my experience from mine and yes it still pulls at those sort of speeds with plenty still left to go. Mines is running BSR stage 1 so is slightly faster.

I actually shouldn't have compared it to a 2.2 as I've never driven one and I'm not playing the engine down as I know it's a good engine, my uncle loved his and that was the old vec b.
