    Unhappy Happy New until brakes!!!

Hi everyone this is my first post (replied to a few). Well it was a Happy New Year until my rear driver side brake seized up today. Called the RAC out he stripped it down and said that whoever fitted the last set of pads had not put the brakes back together properly and water and got in to the caliper and rotted the rubber gaitor around the brake piston (I think thats the correct name for it). He sprayed it with WD40 and managed to wind it back and put copper grease around to keep the water out for awhile. He said I will need a new caliper, disks and pads. Any advice/help with the likely costs of parts and fitting would be much appreciated or even any members in my area (South Wales) who have done this job themselves and want to earn some extra cash.
My car is a 2002 Vectra 2.2 SRI

to be honest i carnt se how you could fit the pads incorectly as they only fit in one way ! sound to me like the rubber has split when piston has been wound back previously and moisture has got in to the piston causing it to rust and sieze !

I would like to thank John35 for finding the calipers on ebay bought both drivers and passengers sides for £70 plus £50 from a garage to fit them. They came with pads as well so did not need to buy them. the calipers were off a 06 Vectra 2.0T which are bigger than my 2.2 SRi but fitted with no modifications. Was quoted £481 to supply and fit Disks, pads and calipers so I saved quite a bit
    Thanks

if you aren't careful when you refit the pads to the tiny groove in the piston you can nick the rubber..
