    Default Upgraded Stereo Fitted

Happy New Year to all !!
Hope there aren't too many hangovers in the forum today !!

    Just a quick technical question.
Upgraded to a Pioneer Stereo over Xmas. Reading the book I found out it has a "direct sub drive" which, according to Pioneer "powers a Subwoofer at 70W without the need of a seperate Amp"
I'm not a I.C.E know-it-all or anything, but I'm unsure how this could work as the connector to the Pre-Out at the rear is different to the speaker connection on a sub (has the twisty things where speaker wire goes in and you have to tighten).

Could any of you shed any light on this or give any advice ?

    Cheers,

~The rear speaker channels are used and i think you join both pos and negs from the 2 channels together giving you one set of pos and neg out puts to drive the speaker you also need to go into the settings and switch the rear speakers to subwoofer . TBH it aint worth doing buy a proper sub and amp.

    Hi Chris,
    Model is - Pioneer DEH-P40MP

Am scouring websites for a decent amp + sub.
Anyone tried Mutant Amps / Subs ?
Friend asked me if they were any good ...
Have seen a decent Kenwood Sub + Amp package on bassjunkies website ...

    Cheers,
