Astra VXR Test Drive

I test drove the Astra VXR on Saturday, very impressed, not half the nasty monster it is made out to be, in fact almost dissapointed by its good manners. It needs to be really provoked on a damp bend and heavy foot to fully loose traction, the seats are superb, like the gear change and the new black piano finish in the center console is much better.

Have been offered a great deal, if I take some finance out I can get a brand new one from the dealer in the paint colour of my choice for £14995! Don't think I can say no.

They have given a low offer on my Signum though only £10,500. It is a 56 plate Design 1.9 CDti 16V 150 BHP in Panacotta with only 10,000 miles done, mint condition, 50% tint on front windows and 2008 disc for the Sat Nav. Anyone interested, will sell for £11,000.

Please let me know soon as I am finalising the deal on Monday the 31st. Am I mad to change?

I test drove one of these a few weeks ago. I think overall a great fun car, but a bit too small for a family (no rear legroom and small boot). Also no headroom.

Thats a good price there, is that on the road?
I also have been offered a brand new Astra VXR for £15600 in black on the road. Trouble is, what mine would be worth in 2 months time (when new VXR would be delivered) is a joke.

I would love one, remember the p/ex is slightly hampered by the low purchase price. Think your buying a 16k car and getting 11500 for yours

Karl has a good point, if your getting all the money off the top end, don't expect to get anymore than base trade for yours.

I have just traded my 56 plate sri nav hatch on a 07 plate low milege sri nav xp estate, got 10k px ! but back in June when i first started to look for a bigger car, i popped into to lookers B-ham, and asked if they could match the best internet price i had found for the car ive just brought, he said yes ! but i would have to have their finance ! i had the money in the bank already, so i was peeved off ! ! it would of included power roof and rails, he offerd me £11,500 px with a £6,500 balance on finance !

I think you have been offered a fair price. You can get a Sig 1.9 150 Elite 56 reg for £10999 here. I know the mileage is higher, but it is an Elite.

I can't believe I am about to say this on this site but...
Having driven both the Astra VXR and the Focus ST, the Focus is a much better drive in comparison, much more involving and really good 'fun'.
Shame its a Furd!
