do you guys think it would be a good, safe and cheaop idea to buy and install the vectras new turbo, the one on the 2.8 v6 on a old 2004 3.2 vectra? you buy the parts cheap from a totlaed car whose turbo parts are unharmed...?????

nope, as the internal engine design of the 3.2 was never built to have a turbo fitted..the 2.8 will run a lower compression ratio to cope with the extra boost the turbo gives it..and if you intend to give it sustained hignh boost pressures then you'll be looking at extra oiljets to cool the undersides of the pistons and better quality pistons ( to avoid melting) and a better headgasket.. too much work IMO..
Better to supercharge it..works on much lower boost pressures..
You could do what Courteney do and use twin head gaskets and an adaptor plate between the head to lower the compression.
Ball ache though?
or just take the lump if unharmed from the vxr and dump it in??
whats a lump? and what supercharger is fitable on the vectra? thanks
then you have the dreaded canbus system to overcome lol.
chop shop job lol
As GSi has said, totally possible conversion, but added to the the new pistons, oil jets, head gaskets you'll most probably need stand alone engine management and maybe new high flow fuel injectors, or a seventh injector somewhere. Its got to be cheaper and easier to drop in a VXR engine.
If you do decide to do it anyway it'll be the most unique vectra - c I've ever seen!!
There is that phrase again - Canbus
What is the Canbus. Have seen it on many a thread but haven't a clue what it is!!
