confused Car noisy over speed bumps

    Can anyone help.

I have a 2005 pre facelift 150 CDTI and it seem to have got a bit loud going over speed bumps (mostly the front I think), any suggestions about the cause?

    Thanks in advance

is it a creaking sound if so mine is the same, i think it is the front spring seat mod needed...............or i hope so anyway, just a matter of fitting a plastic or rubber shoe to the bottom of the spring where it sit's on the strutt i think....vx should do this if car is under warranty afaik

If it's more of a creaking then the favourite will be the rad mounts - dead easy to replace. If it's more of a loud 'crack' then that's the spring seat needing fitted/replaced. Again, easy enough to do. IIRC you'll need a spring compressor to let you get it on the end of the spring.

There's a good chance it could be them I'd say. With the spring seat sleeve problem (i.e. not having one) then what happens is the spring can rotate gradually and as it comes back round a full circle the end of it then springs back into the seat making a loud noise, not a creaking noise.

I had the loud creaking on mine - more noticeable on speed bumps or when the car was 'chugging' along in traffic. Got the rad mounts replaced under warranty - noise gone.

That's probably due to the water/moisture 'lubricating' the rubber mount and stopping it creaking. Definitely sounds like them to me.
