    Angry ****** car!

Well just had a nice call from my local Vauxhall dealer, took my Vectra CDTi SRi in this morning with diesel fumes coming out of the air vents at idle and low speeds, they have diagnosed it as faulty injectors - just shy of £500!

Only had the b@stard car for a week, they say it is just out of warranty (54 plate) and although this is a very common problem I will still have to foot the bill.

And to rub salt in wounds the cheeky garage even asked if they could have their courtesy car back - told them where to go as they won't allow me to have my car back until it is repaired!

So now stuck with a poxy astra 1.4 club - painfully slow and incredibly noisey - not exactly a fair swap for my 'performance diesel' estate!

Not a happy bunny, gonna try and stir up some trouble with Vauxhall customer services.........

    Any advice?!

Thrash the nuts of their car!

nah seriously though, did you buy the car from the dealer its at? Walk in when theres customers around and shout and scream at them, they hate looking crap infront of other customers. Thats so unfortunate especially just after xmas when weve all got a light wallet!

Good luck to ya buddy, give em hell!

many people on here have had their dealership contribute appox 50% to repair work on out of warranty cars - not necessarily for faulty injectors, but if they've told you that it's a common fault then i would argue.

next step would be a letter to vauxhall

had to authorise them to do the repair, they wouldn't allow me to have it back as its dangerous apparently! Think i'm gonna have to go down the letter to Vauxhall route and hope they cough up. Had loads of Vauxhalls and never had any trouble before - should have bought a Skoda!

Do you not get 28 days warranty as part of your statutory rights? from a dealer.

Dont feel bad about it they would do the same to you given half the chance, I would take it back and tell them to fix it, where did you buy it from?

And them saying it's dangerous is 80llox. It's your car, not theres.
That's what I told the dealers when they wanted £130 to change a set of front pads on the girl friends Corsa. Made her sign a disclaimer and made her feel really bad about it.

Surely you would have some sort of warranty from a dealer when buying secondhand, we had half the engine replaced in our old '95 1.6 Astra at VX's expence when the car was over 3 years old
