    Default Timing belt?

Hi just wondering if the CDTI 150 has a timing belt or chain? Also if it is a belt at what milage do vx recomend its changed also the aux belt.Another question i have is that when i got my vec i took it for an oil change at kwik fit and they put in "premium multigrade oil" i was told that diesels use the same oil as petrols but my mate who is a lorry mechanic said that there is specific oil for diesel engines that has a detergent in it and should prob change it to the right stuff what you think guys? Thanks in advance.

The 1.9CDTi is a belt and iirc the interval is 100,000 miles but i'd never even think about leaving
    it that long.

Oil wise, VX recomend fully synthetic 5w30 to cope with the 20,000 mile service intervals but
they tend to cost cut and use 10w40 when they service it, so if you have it serviced by VX, check
what oil they are going to use and insist on 5w30.

vauxhall recommend 100k which i think is total maddness
it is really just piece of mind i personally think about 60k is about right.
and the oil should be 5w30 fully synthetic is top notch

    Vehicle : Insignia

    Trim : Sri

    Engine : 140 Ecoflex S/S

    Year : 2013

Quoted £400 by VX stealer but that was for 3.2 V6. Wouldn't like to guess at other models but can't be worse than mine.

Sorry guys, but can you explain something in the owners service book (2002 edition, as is my motor). This bit is on page 19 but yours may be diffrent:

Service schedule N, VX ECOService - Flex,

Item 9) Toothed belt and tensioning pulley roller - replace no later than every 4 years or 40,000 miles.

I'd had a similar conversation with VX dealer the other day and was told that the 3.2 V6 needs it doing at 80k.

    Now I'm really confused
