Default VXR steering wheel trim - will it fit?

I've just been looking at Sparkyvxr's superb photos of the VXR.
I'm now wondering if the VXR's steering wheel silver trim - the one on the bottom spoke, in silver, with the VXR graphic - would fit my SRi wheel (where I have a plain black trim)?
Anyone know? - also do these trims just clip on?
Will VX be selling this part separately, or would they expect you to buy a complete wheel???

They do fit but are the best fit, as bainie has said you will have to modify it to fit.

yep as said i bought the astra part not vxr though and you simply remove the screw at the back and then prize off. the new bit needs to be filed at the sides and the back of it has a longer plastic piece for the screw that will also need filed. you can use the old bit as a guide. easy to do though.

Paul, you've pinched the steering wheel right out of my brain!!!
That's exactly what I have in mind. I understand a little surgery is required to make it fit, but approximately how much do VX charge for this bit? Is it "special order" or will I get it over the counter?
