    Default PC help

    I have Vistas home premium and I thought its about time that I did a de-frag on it. But I can't see where the program is for it. Windows 98 etc was easy to find the start button but on this thing!!! any one advise?

    its there under ALL PROGRAMMES/ACCESSORIES/ SYSTEM TOOLS (I THINK)

    If / when your recover you music, be sure to do a back up with Acronis

    err..., ignore this bit of useless advice, i'm posting through company server which sometimes causes the odd post to '404'

    I had read that Vista didn't have a manual defrag anywhere.Its suppose to defrag its self now and then.Crap really but then so is Vista.

    Not so.

    Open "My Computer".

    Right click on the drive you want to defrag and hit "Properties".

    Select the "Tools" tab.

    Press "Defragment Now".

    This brings up the schedule panel.

    If you're not happy with the scheduled time (e.g. it was months ago), hit "Defragment Now" again and go for a few beers.
