Urgent iTunes help needed...

Just doing my sister's boyfreind a favour, and setting his new Ipod up on my PC, I go to open my iTunes and it vanished, only to be replaced by a completely new fresh one, with no music in it at all!!!

I have lst 2600 songs from my itune's, does anyone have any idea wherew they could have gone, have done a complete system search, and have found little bits of them, but nowhere near all of them...

Has anyone else ever had this when trying to set up 2 ipods on one PC??

Any help very gratefully recieved!

Yeah thats a common fault, I believe you had to switch to 'manual' sync of the ipods when you got more than one, as the 'automatic' does what you described.

I havn't even got anything to help you recover you music although I think a program called mediamonkey will allow you to transfer all your songs from the Ipod BACK to the PC.

Yeah I have had the same as well, more than 1 Ipod per pc is a pain, Apple should have made it easier defo !!

Well, after an exceptionally late night, i have managed to recover all but 14 songs i had in my iTunes...

Luckily i had transferred about 2200 tracks from my old Laptop when i got my new one in march this year, So had to get that fired up and transferred them across, Then set about searching the memory of this Laptop for the others..

So all is now sorted, but i will never ever try and help someone out again where iTunes is concerned!
