I usually get between 36 and 42 mpg because all my driving is short urban trips and rarely do more than 8k a year.So considering price of fuel and if you do alot of urban stuff i would n`t worry too much as long as it`s runnin ok

People really are starting to realise the increase in fuel costs now that we dont get as many miles per pound.

Urban driving uses a lot more fuel - all that stop/start traffic and the extra power needed to get the car moving from traffic lights.
Also, they tend to use more fuel in cold weather, mine has dropped from around 47mpg avg to around 43 mpg avg in the winter months. Plus the extra cost of fuel is a killer. When I 1st got a dielsel it was around the 60p a litre mark, now we are being had off left right and centre by the blasted government.
Another tip is to use only proper branded fuels, not Tesco or Asda etc etc. I have used BP Extra and Shell V-Power Diesel before and they make naff all difference IMO.
Back to using Shell Diesel Extra, which is chreaper and does the job just as well. Also Use Millers 4, about £10 for 10 tanks worth of the stuff. Keeps it running smooth and keeps things clean!
    Hope this helps somewhat
