    Default Insurance renewal in!

55 plate SRi CDTi 150. Currently got Snowflakes added to policy as non-standard modification (put excess up to £250 from £100 )
Anyway i'm 29, 10 years+ no claims.Renewal from Directline came in at £471.45.Went on their web site and new policy without Snowflakes comes in at £310.80.
Snowflakes are currently off the car and in the garage for winter storage! Anybody come up with better quotes?

Oh and by the way MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The best price from confused.com is £363.

I`m with directline and they have been consistantly the cheapest i can find BUT when it comes to mods they are pretty 5h1t IME.They charged me £70 odd just for the exhaust and excess went from £200 to £450 which they neglected to tell me about when i added it.Come renewel time me thinks i`ll be changing insurers.

I've just had my renewal last week, for Budget
Gone from £500 per year to £650 per year, although strangely they gave me two prices from different underwriters
I phoned them up with 24 hours to go and advised them to cancel the automatic renewal
I found a cheaper "new" online quote from them for £600
I tried loads of other online insurance companies, and this year they seemed to have been scared off for some reason
I've held a UK driving licence for 17 years, have 8 years protected NCB, and two non-fault accidents in the last two years
My policy is named driver only, Class 2 business use, 30K (22K / 8K) miles a year, with a nil voluntary excess, fully comp with legal and NCB protection

Sadly you will have to do the quotes as insurance depends on so many factors, whats cheap for me is expensive for someone else, i can suggest you look at www.quidco.co.uk as you can get some good cashbcak i got £120 back on my Churchill policy this year.

Budget ehh ... I was with them with the VXR, beat all the other quotes by well over £100 , but it wasn`t worth it *lol* They are a total rip off , when I moved house they charged me £30 to change details and a further £70 because I had moved to a higher risk area (Which I hadn`t!! ) then when I sold the vec with over 2 months still to go so about £200 left on the policy ... they refused to cover my new car, and said because I had the policy for over 9 months no refund was due ... I tried to argue the case but got nowhere ..

So Beware Budget ... not as cheap as they look !!!!

Loads of bad reviews on the service at Swift Cover , pricewise they are ok its just if you need to contact/claim from them you have problems
