I have been trying to think what I have done in the last 2 days to make it go off only had the car 2 weeks and the alarm has been ok.

I filled the washer bottle up 3 days ago the bonet was closed so I reopened it and give it a good old slam is there a tamper switch on the bonet.

Its not gone off in the last hour touch wood one other thing after the alarm has been activated does the safeguard warning tell you what caused the alarm to be activated .

I will give it another hour and if goes off again the battery leads will be off thanx for the adv bluerob

Have you tried pressing the button to disable to the ultrasonics and arming the alarm to see if it goes off again? At least that may help in narrowing down the problem.

Unless you follow the procedure set out in the handbook, the alarm will go off the moment you disconnect the car battery as it has a battery back up.

    Hi Rushy & Jushyd
No lights on and I found a couple of old posts re:alarms and found out where the bonnet switch is.

Yes also arming the alarm again stood out for ages and the thing never went off lol

I think it must of been the bonnet it's been 2 hours now since I reclosed the bonnet and its not gone off yet . Thanx for the advice guys

As far as i'm aware the alarm will not go off. Ive had my battery off a couple of times and nothing happens, must be a little trick with the alarms ecu and the bonnet switches. The old vec b's had a system where you had to do something with the ignition but as im aware the C doesn't.
