signum tailgate stuck

facelift signum cant unlock the tailgate any help plz all other locks work fine dead locks fine (though i think it might be dead lock that is causing it)help plz

thanks for the link i think i will leave it as under warrenty however where is the lock inside the back?????????????#

What do you mean where is the lock? The lock itself is visible on the bottom edge of the tailgate. The thread I linked to is all to do with the electronic tailgate release. That part, the handle and switch, is inside the tailgate - my pics show where.

Ah right - depends. If you have that option you''ll see a little round disc thing on the inside of the tailgate with a slot in it to put a key/screwdriver etc. - that's the mechanical release. They dropped it on later Signums so yours may not have it.

yea right in the middle at the bottom edge there is a rubber bung size of a 1p ive managed to get the thing open by just banging it on the outside but i would have thought there would be a manual way of opening i also. cheers for your help duncan

Sounds like you haven't got the manual release then. Given yours is a 2006 model then that would be why, they dropped it on late 04 onwards I think, certainly 05 on.

just to put a nice note about the dealers the car went in today they had to go and get the part from derby (from north notts) and all is fixed under warranty all on new years eve..
