Oh the joys of Christmas

Following on from the problems of having my Mum in hospital (Thread Here) my daughter walked in at 8.30 last night to say that her partner had just announced that he no longer loved her and thought they needed to "talk"

They have been through a few problems over the last few months but have been seemingly very happy recently. They had even invited us all round for Boxing day tea and bought loads of food yesterday afternoon. For him to then come out with this was a bit of a bombshell to say the least

So, we have another person in the house as she will not be going back this time. They have split up a couple of times over the last year but this time is final. I want to go round and rip his arms off then beat him to death with the sticky end but the wife is not so keen. ............but there's more than one way to skin a cat His brand new BMW sitting on their drive looks very nice......................for now

Merry Christmas all, i'm thinking of cancelling this years

Bad timing, but at least he's being upfront about it, better he does this than go cheating on her, could've waited another 10 days to say.

You now have to go down the road of explaining to her that she's better off without him and all things happen for a reason etc, I'm assuming she's not very old either Tony ? so she will probably land hard on this.

Why ??

Not being funny mate, but he quite probably has some very good reasons for spliting with your daughter. Isn't it better to do it than to live a lie and eventually resent his life and your daughter?

These things happen, we can only be there to pick up the pieces for ourselves and children (of any age) when it all goes wrong

I agree. Unless he has cheated on her (then he deserves all he gets) then if they dont get on anymore, best to sort it now - just bad timing though.

Sorry to hear about the latest,maybe it is for the best,do they jointly own the house ? if so watch out my daughters ex scumbag husband went and put the house up for sale the next day without a thought for his daughter,came back later and took the TV ,hifi The setee and an armchair plus half the cutlery & crockery !!!!.and cleared their bank A/C, daughter had only just been paid.

Be warned tell her to carefull ,best of luck to her, remind her that she still has her DAD behind her thats the main thing.
