    Default Beep or Bing noise

This is going to sound a strange one but here goes,

I seem to have developed a binging noise on the car, same noise as if you are calling cabin crew on a plane, (make sense?)

Anyway it was doing it when ever I got to 70mph +10 work it out and bing/beeped 3 times ie bing bing bing then stopped, went under that speed and back over it and again bing bing bing, thought it speed sensor related to the stereo as in the volume increases when noise etc but no took the sensor cable out of stereo and still there.

As I said it "WAS" doing it when I got to 70mph +10 but now doing it at 60mph and quieter in volume, and also did it at 40mph again quieter in volume.

THe car is driving perfect and no problems except for this noise that is more annoying than anything.

I have tried disconnecting the battery for about 30mins and trying that but still no joy. Some days it does not do it.

Not a lot to go on but any help would be good.

Guess if not it's down to Vx for a Tech 2 and pay a fortune for the privilage.

    Merry Christmas everyone

Where does the binging come from? Is it a soft quiet binging or an 'in your face' binging like the seatbelt warning one.

Last question - odd one but could be the reason. Do you have a TomTom SatNav unit that is set up to automatically get the traffic report updates? They make a soft binging noise when they get an update that has anything new on your route.

Its not a dodgy door (or hatch) courtesy light switch (and therefore a door open warning "bing") that occasionally makes a connection?

I got the fasten your seetbelts bing-bing-bing after I updated the software on my sat-nav, not got a Tom-tom by any chance?

If not I'd go with the door open scenario

It's a duller tone than the seat belt warning and when it did it at above the 70mph it was louder, at 60mph softer, I do have Tom Tom 710 and updated the software recently but this is coming from the car, even if Sat Nav is not on. Don't have the traffic reports enabled on Tom Tom so I think it rules that one out.

I think the binging is coming from the speakers although I have turned the stereo off and it still does it.

My Vectra has an audible 70mph warning
I heard it the first time and thought "brill what's broken?"
However it repeated itself a few times
It then came back a few days later
It wasn't until I was looking at the speedo that I realised it was being triggered when the speedo nudged to the white marked line above the 70mph
