    Smile Brand New In Car DVD Player

    Ok please someone help me, I purchased a dvd player of ebay from hong kong, recieved it and tried fitting it today, well theres no power getting through to it, but if i change a wire round power goes to it but it dont switch on. I followed the instructions and i have the corect adaptor from halfords, so why dont it work. Please if anyone can give me step by step guide, or even be able to meet me and help me fit it I would be happy Here is a link to the dvd player i purchased

    you need to get your voltage tester out

    you need to find out if you have an ign feed to the radio

    if there is no ign feed to the radio you will need to take the feed from the lighter below the radio

    Im not trying to sound stupid, but I get my voltage tester, then test which wires? and then do what? and if no ignition feed what do i do about the lighter

    Actually heres some info, i wired it correctly when you turn the ignition nothing, but if i change the wireand put the red wire from the dvd player which is power obviously to the yellow wire in vectra which is battery the power button illuminates on dvd player, but nothing happens when you switch it on, the only prob being is it stays illumninated when removing key from ignition. help!!

    sounds like you need the same power to both wires,not just one or the other,have you got a wiring diagram with the unit?? that might help....

    Looking at the diagram, black in earth, yellow is battery (think I took a feed from the glovebox), red is acc (feed off the ciggy lighter), at least thats where I took the power for my I-pod adapter but thats not needing too much juice.

    If it were mine i'd test it by connecting direct to the battery to prove it works

    Have tried both wires and the power light come on but nothing else happens, yes i have a wiring diagram, im going to put a pic of it on here in about 10 mins
