    Can you adjust the alignment of the front fogs as mine are way too low?

    yes m8 you sure can,just look at the fog surround and you will see a
    hole somewere around the edge and behind the hole you will find a flat slot
    on the end of the thread for you to adjust it.

    Have now got fog lights that are usable - needed a small Torx type head to adjust screw. Why do manufacturers (VX?) persist in using this type of head?

    Because m8 they are hoping that you do not have the correct tools to do the job,and therefore use the vx dealer,it works aswell cus some peeps won't touch em

    Torx?

    On my previous pre-facelift Vectra and current facelift I used an allen key to adjust them.

    On the Vectra B the adjustment was from under the bumper

    On the Vectra C the adjustment is from the adjusters built into the bumper
    It makes the operation much easier
