Strange that since this bunch has been in power it has doubled.
agreed ed, when I first started driving around 1976 it was about 70p a gallon, or 1 sheckel and a goat to fill up, typical labour, useless bit of info but with things like the smoking ban etc etc there are apparently now over 4000 things you cannot do anymore since they have been in, obviously most dont affect everyone but talk about big brother states, urgg, rant over and Merry Christmas (if i can still say that) to one and all
You watch in the near future we will want to emigrate to Russia, they will soon have a better standard of living than us. In some respects they already have.
thats just scary
Thats wrong,because in 1989 when i started buying petrol i remember the price being about 67p a litre,never 38p..........
I can remember seeing petrol at 37 pence per litre.... That's along time ago now, I'd have been about 12 years old or so.
Damn yes, what's most alarming is how prices have changed since 1997. Reasonably consistent with inflation up to that point.
Worth remembering that the cost of living in general has gone through the roof too though - a pound today is "worth" a lot less than it was in 1985, for everything.
I can remember when fuel went to £2 a gallon...i thought i was being ripped off then..my landrover cost me £30 a week to run, now it would be around £70 for the same tank of fuel....
i went to menorca at the end of september this year, when i left it was 98p when i got back 10 days later, it was 105p.
I nearly shat meself...........lol
