    Default Xenon lights too low

This is probably in the wrong place but here goes:

The Xenon dipped beam on my 02 GSi seem very low. I know there's no manual adjustment under the bonnet but I've had other cars with Xenons (Octavia vRS, Pug 406) and their Xenons were the dogs. Even my 1996 Rover 800 Turbo Coupe with standard bulbs is better than the Veccy. As an example, unlit B road - Rover 65mph, Veccy 40mph at a push, yes they're that bad!

I'm also aware that it's got a self levelling system within the Xenons (you see it testing itself when you switch the lights on) but surely they shouldn't be this low.

Cheers guys a nd a merry Xmas.

Hi GTR1000, You can change the height yourself. I lowered my car a while ago, the nose of my vec was lower at the front so at night on my drive i switched the lights on and on top of the lights(unit) are a large i think plastic phillips screw head and slightly turned one way or the other to raise them. You only need to move the screw a tiny bit and the safe leveling will carry on as normal. Remember to have the passenger side a tiny bit higher than the drivers side so not to dazzle on coming drivers.

I hope i have explained this OK

P.S Make sure you can see the lights against a garage wall or something to see how much they are adjusted by.

Have done the adjustment - it was an allen key screw that I tweaked, not Phillips, that I tweaked.

Many thanks M8, lights now doing what they should do.

It does feel better when you have correct lighting at night on darker roads.
