    Default More power required!

    Hi everyone!

I have a 1.9cdti signum (120bhp) and although its fairly nippy, im looking to give it a little more poke. Been reading other posts and i think im gonna go for a remap. Can anyone tell me the best place to get it done and what sort of cost it would be and extra bhp i should expect to gain etc. I live in the north yorks area but am willing to travel!

    Thanks.

Having travelled in Brock's remapped 120, i'd say get down to 888/VXperformance centre..it's not cheap but you do get what you pay for....he's running around 170bhp now and his car has been ultra reliable..

For a closer option there's also Dap Developments in Huddersfield. He's ex 888 and uses EDS maps as well.

Had an email back from Vxperfromance centre today (xmas eve as well!!). The remap sounds good. They can get about 40hp gain from it and another 90nm torque which would give me 160hp and 370nm torque ( more torque than an astra vxr I believe!). Total cost of £550 inc vat, which I know isnt the cheapest around but if they are a reliable company then I think it'll be worth it. Getting it booked in for new year so will let you know how it goes!

Now had car re-mapped at vxperformance centre and lets just say I drove the 200 miles back home with a huge grin on my face!!

It feels like a new car, the power is always there and it pulls like a train in every gear (including sixth!)

Wonder why vaux dont do this to the cars anyway if the car is capable of doing it!?

Would recommend vxperformance centre to anyone, they were good guys and very helpful ( not just coz theyve given my car a new lease of life ). Total cost was £550 which I know isnt the cheapest around but hey, you get what you pay for. Also if vaux wipe off the map for any reason, they will fit it again free of charge.

I may seem to be going on about this, but sometimes the reason that Vauxhall don't increase the power on a particular car is because the engine already produces the exact amount of torque that the gearbox can handle!

I'm not sure what gearbox the 120 models have fitted,I'm assuming it's the F40 (400Nm) which means your OK

Tuners will not tell you whether or not the rest of your car is capable of handling your new found power (clutch/gearbox,driveshafts,CV joints etc). They're too busy making money!
