    Default How long??

    following on from this thread..

    just wondering how long a respray from the insurance should take???...
    they took it on the 7th december and its still not back...and wont be here before xmas!!! most likely between xmas and new year...or even after new year!!!!!..
    am sure they are takin the p155...
    they said they are gona do a top notch job but surely it shouldnt take this long...
    its less than 1 panel a day!!!! go slow or what!!!

    phoned them today... they are 'expecting' it to be resprayed tomorrow...
    the prep work, 'took longer than expected' !!!!!!! no sh.1t

    It took over a month for us to get our Scenic back from the bodyshop, the missus put it into the back of a mondeo We got a hire car as replacment but it was a cr*p 1ltr micra!! Hang in there m8, as long as she comes back good as new.

    I work in a bodyshop, A full respray would normally take around 3-4 weeks, basically bring the car into the shop, then strip, repairs, prep, paint, polish and then rebuild + valet. Alot to squeeze into that time, hang in there you dont want them to rush it and make mistakes which i see all the time

    jeez..really?.. no repairs to make just respray..
    but fair enough..as long as its gona be done perfectly as they have promised i will be a happy chappy... as long as its not full of swirls again!!!

    Swirls are user error, what was wrong with the car that it needed resprayed

    it got keyed all down passenger side and bonnet... was 'repaired' ie resprayed but due to laquer and different technique fm vx it was a different colour than the rest of car... after 4 independant engineer reports and vx paint specialist they admitted the only way to make it match was to do the whole car!!..
    basically they fooked it up the first time and tried to swindle out of it, but being so 'into' my car and detailing etc, it was easy to see the errors and bad job they did!!... only took 4 months of conplaining and emails, own independant reports etc...managed to get xs wavered etc so job done for free!!

    Thats why they are taking so long, they want to get it right. Hopefully they do and you are happy with your nice new paint work
