Default How much in pence per mile do you run?

    Simple thread this one.
I need to gauge how much in pence per mile your cars run to see how much worse the V6 is. I'm especially interested in 1.8 & 2.2 litre petrols.

Simply post your model/engine + petrol or deisel and how much in pence per mile.

I think that's the figure he was after! Trying to work out what you're cost is based on if you've excluded all those! lol

Well I'm over my must have more power than God phase again for now and I'm back to pushing the boundries of fuel economy. I have the box in but not upto max and the turbo is also cranked up to around 27-28psi. The fuel gauge is about half way between 1/2 and 5/8ths and I've done 390 miles since filling up. I can only speculate at the moment as I haven't filled up yet but I recon about 47mpg will be seen this week. Maybe more because I have mainly motorway miles to do now.

    Anyway

    - 47mpg = 10.34 miles/litre
    - V-power cost me 111p last time
    - A few shots of millers at £10 a bottle and about 10 fills from it adds a £1 per 60 litres = 1.67p
    -so 112.67p per litre / 10.34 miles = 10.9p per mile

I really need to drive slower....

£62 to fill the tank with V Power diesel. 500 miles if i'm really careful...

    12.4p a mile on a good tankful,
14.4p a mile if i'm driving round town all the time.

just re-read the OP....only wanted petrol figures! Sorry....

Deisel's still fine too Paul as I can compare it to what my work mates get as I'm one of the few petrol business drivers.

I reckon my 3.2 costs around 17-18p per mile, based on a £43 250 mile tank used mainly on the B roads & rarely slowly.
