    Default Tyre pressures

    What is the recomended tyre pressures for the sri cdti running 215/50/17s goodyear ncts have been told a few different figures can anybody clarify the correct one for me please.

    IIRC its 32 front & rear, 36 for load/speed.

    Ok cheers bud thought it would be around that,Kwick fit told me that it was 42psi all round thougtht that was a bit high?

    flipping heck! the Astras we use at work run 42psi all round on 17's, but they carry a couple of hundred kilos of clobber in the boot and generally go fairly quick....

    ....so will your tyres at that pressure!

    32psi sounds a bit low, but its in the hand book. Rule of thumb is twice the rim size. I run mine at 40/38 but then its got a massive cast iron lump in the front!

    32 all round... or 34 /36 for rears under load..

    ^^^^ to be honest at 32/34, people have said your tyres look a bit flat!!..
    40/38 seems high though... would get a lot of uneven tyre wear at that...
    mine at 32/34 have lasted at least 20k and even tyre wear all round for f1's so vx must be doing something right
