Default Heartburn? Does anyone understand the pain?!

Does anyone get this horrible fire like pain in their chest?

What do use to cure it?

    I currently use Rennies

I get it occasionally, a nice glass of milk normally does the trick

I see what you mean, and now I come to think of it, if any of you get it before you go to bed, make sure you take some ant-acids. I woke up in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago and my windpipe had shut-up - could not breathe. This is apparently caused when you have acid heartburn prior to going to bed/during the night. The acid comes up your gullet and, before it can spill into your lungs, you will suffer a spasm - normal to protect you from essentially choking on your own vomit. Another point here is watch what you eat after a boozy night out!!!!!

You can have a pain in your chest that is caused by reflux. No antacids or rennie will shift that. You have to go down the doc and get something like yorkshireborn has said.

allso put a thick book ie;- yellow pages under your bed to lift it up at the headboard end this will stop the reflux.
