    Default Laser Eye Treatment

Anyone had any experience with this?

I'm very very very very very short sighted and wear contacts but have been considering laser treatment for ages, although it's like £300 per eye.

300 quid per eye sounds cheap to be honest

you can only have laser eye surgery if your prescription has remained constant for a certain period of time if i remember correctly, otherwise there is no point in getting it done because your sight will still deteriorate even after the op.

If you are under 30, then don't get it as your eye sight settles down at around 30.

I too am short sighted but to be perfectly honest, I don't like the risks. I'll keep my glasses thank you and £600

Thanks to staring at a computer screen constantly when i was 13-16 my eyesight went downhill rapidly. It seems to have slowed down a lot since i started work/driving as i have had the same prescription for at least a year!

Is it worth having this done as i know there is a chance my eyesight would go back to what it is now.....

It slows down when you are in your twenties but sorry to tell but, unless you:

    - Wear glasses
    - Wear Contact lenses
    - Like are asking - laser eye surgery

Short sightedness is here to stay - because your eye is too big for the lens in it, thats how you grow out of long sightedness - supposedly.

I wore glasses for 2 years before switching to contacts. After a really good laugh at work one got washed out with the tears of laughter (which were great at the time) and get blown away with the wind so i had to drive home with only 1 lens

I've been thinking about having it done, but I'm squeemish, and the thought of having the front of my eye sliced off while I'm awake turns me right off. Plus, according to someone I know who's had it done, there's the smell of burning flesh while the proceedure is carried out. If they could do it under general anaesthetic I'd think about it.
