okay...okay, not from F1, but i heard on the radio that he got caught doing 120mph on a motroway and his license has been revoked.

It was on Sky news earlier, reckon he was doing 196kph!

Wonder what the car was exactly? If it's a high spec car he should try and fight it, i imagine his reaction times are somewhat faster normal thinking distances!

i'm gonna play devils advocate here.....as it follows on nicely from the 'wife got caught speeding' thread.

don't you think he could argue that providing conditions were safe, he could well get away with driving at those speeds without putting others in danger, i mean he's arguably one of the best drivers in the road, with reaction times as close to zero as you're going to get, and he drives at those speeds all day long.

obviously nobody is above the law, but his profession and the fact that he is a star (because that always make a difference), will mean that he doesn't receive anywhere near as severe a penalty as you or i would receive.

Yep, just needs to say he was testing the limits of the car...hmmm sounds familiar..

could well be his own merc ML that he mentioned on top gear a few weeks ago. i suppose if it were a hire car then he wouldn't be too bothered about it getting picked up - but it seems as though it was done so pretty rapidly.

This happened in France in a Merc but doesn't say which type of Merc, one months ban ! wow, if it was one of us lot we'd have the book thrown at us.

I got asked if I thought I was James Hunt back in the 80's after i was pulled doing a fair bit over around a long sweeping right hander, she never gave me a ticket though iirc, and I never gave her my number cos I wasn't too sharp back then.
