Pulled over by the Police? So What?

Has this ever happened to any of you? I was driving home from my m8s tonight and came to set of traffic lights (not important), and at the same time a police car was going the other way. As I sat at the traffic lights, they were red - I just had an inclination to look at my rear view mirror - just as well the police car was doing a U-turn and then pulled up behind me at the lights. I knew what was coming though couldn't work out what I had done - heart was skipping beats. I waited 10 agonizing seconds before the lights changed, and low and behold when a complete the right hand turn - i was not indicating, nor did i jump a light - they flashed me and put on their blue lights.

I stopped instantly at the side of the road, turned off the engine and got out. The police officer approached me - he was very polite - and said 'we were checking to see if you had been drinking.' I said no - because i didn't and he said ok. I was very confused surely they would have used a breathalyser on me? I must note I stopped at the red light before the turned round - and yes i did forget to indicate but that was after they turned round?

Any Clues?

whilst the first officer was asking u if u had been drinking the other officer will have been checking your car and u on the database.

Sometimes they just have a hunch and check things out - and often their hunches are right! They can usually tell straight away if somebody has been drinking as they'll smell it, and obviously in your case they wouldn't have.

As for exactly made them turn around, I guess you'll never know! lol

You always get that inclination dont you. I remember leaving a local leisure park one morning (11:30ish) about to tuck into my cheese burger as I approached a round about a police car approached from the left and gave way to me. Great I thought, gonna have to wait now to eat.
They swiftly followed me as we approached the ext round about but sticking to the speed limit of 40mph I could see I could nip in at the round about causing them to stop & give way. I watched as they exited it and put their foot down to catch me up.
Now this was my favourite bit the blues came on as we approached the brow of a hill on a dual carriage way. I flashed my hazards to acknowledge them and was going to stop somewhere safe clear of the brow of the hill. Anyway, as I didn't stop the twos came on and they started giving me a load with the headlights as we cleared the brow so I thought sod it, if you desperately want me to stop in such a dangerous place then fine, it will be there car someone hits first.
I pulled up & plod got out. I wound my window down and he started being all bolshey over why I didn't stop and before he could finish his sentence he was interupted by the sound of screeching tyres and someone nearly ploughing into the back of his car. I simply replied "For that exact reason, would you like to move somewhere safer"
His mate just nodded and they left it that.
