It's easier when your insurance renewal doesn't come within 10 days of the re-tax date. All I'm getting at the moment is 'we cannot find insurance for your vehicle or it expires in the next 10 days'.

I'm determined I'm not wasting another hour of my life queing up in either post office near me that does car tax, as they're both bluddy useless. And as for the dozy, dopey, ****less customers I always seem to get stuck behind.....

still should work if u do it online as u will still be on insurance data base..
i still used the car without the tax physically in the car for a good 5 days or so until the tax arrived, I just printed the confirmation out you get...
still got a ticket from a parking warden..reporting me for no tax???... went and had a word with him and said dont worry, they will see it is taxed and wont bother doing anything bout it

I couldn't get tax for mine when the insurance ran out the same month on-line so I went to the post office and they wouldn't give it to me either as my insurance ran out that month, I argued with them about it till I was blue in the face, but ended up waiting for my renewal and having to drive with no tax for a few days.
