    Default Sat nav bought!

    Hi all,

Well today I finally picked up my new Navman iCN520 sat nav unit from Argos

I say finally cause I had it put aside on Tuesday, they set it aside until the 1st, however when I called to make sure it was there they said it had been on offer and the offer was now finished.........it had gone up by £30, I said well you didn't tell me the offer was ending so you have to honour the agreement.........to cut a long story short they did let me have it at the offer price of £249 and gave me a couple of gift vouchers aswell, I haven't used it yet but it's looking really good and I'm very happy with the price

    Bryan

PS the new price is £279 and at that it;s still a good buy!

Sounds like you got a bargain. I too have just bought sat nav (Tomtom 700) but mine's been taken off me (unopened) and wrapped up for Christmas morning!
Now we've bought ours, we can no doubt look forward to the prices tumbling in the new year.!
Don't forget to take it with you every time you park, ideally taking the sucker attachment off the windscreen as well, as the thieving scumbags will break-in to look for it if there's any evidence on show. It's probably an idea to polish-out the ring where the sucker's been too!!!
It's a bad world.....but at least you won't get lost now!

I wouldn't worry too much Doug, i've had my tom tom 300 for around six months now and the prices have dropped very slightly, even with the roll up to christmas.

no doubt they'll drop a bit by next month but they tend to hold their price very well because wherever you go there is not that much variation in the price provided you've done your homework and bought it for the cheapest price possible.

i've not had any experience with the navman but if it's like the tom tom then you'll both be very pleased indeed. be sure to download the speed camera onto your units, this feature alone is a god send! i'm sure it's free to do aswell on the web.

PocketgpsWorld is a good website for Sat Nav, lots of POI's for all of Europe and a really good and regulary updated speed camera POI database.

The forums are very good if you have questions and problems

    Cheers

the only problem is, they tend to just give Tom tom compatible POI's which you need a converter for to load onto your navman (which ive not figured out yet)
