    Default Yet another breakdown

Two full days after spending over £500 on my piece of **** Signum, it breaks down again.
Pull over at Tescos, pop in, come back out and the battery is completely flat. In less that 5 minutes. Nothing left on at all.
Guess the battery has failed now. Jump started it, ran it the 6 miles back home and it starts just fine.
Woohoo, I am so enamoured with VX cr&p at the moment you would not believe.
By my reckoning, by the time I replace the battery tomorrow it should have had about £10k spent on it in the last 2 years on replacement parts.
    Damn good car eh?

    it's not good....

VX batterys seem to only have about a 3 years life from new...and an annoying tendency to fail completely with absolutely no warning whatso ever..

A Laguna I had did it. No warning whatsoever and wouldn't restart in a petrol station. This battery is just over 3 yrs old, no doubt the cold weather has brought on it's demise.

Maybe an alternator check might help too along with the new battery

Don't go there I will burn it!!
We had a night of -4 deg temperatures last night. I went out at 8am and blow me down it started!!! Really sluggish on the motor though so I reckon the battery is able to hold enough to get the car started but leave the ignition on for any period of time with anything drawing current like the seat heaters and it kills it.
Found batteries with a 3 yr guarantee on line for £70 (VARTA) so just waiting for a quote from my local tyre fitter and it's off I go for a new one.

Stupid question time, the £10k work was carried out under warranty?
Dont the VX batteries have a lifetime warranty?
