Upon our renewal coming through I phoned them to speak in person this time round as first time did it online only to be informed my policy last year which had been paid for & used would of been void had we needed to make a claim as the modification (tinted windows) which had been declared online is a modification their policy does not allow them to insure
Therefore would not be able to insure the car. When questioned why they allowed it last year they said it was a mistake and would of been void. Well thanks for informing me.

Guess where I told them to go

did you ask for a refund of last yrs policy...........as not covering you would mean that they owe you money surely

Well i've rang elephant today and i have lost 1 out of 2 years, even it was a non fault i lost it so i'm only left with 1 years NCB! I got letter that the recent non fault claim wouldn't affect my NCB but with elephant any CLAIM you end up losing your NCB regardless of fault (my claim has been recovered)!

Just got an update, it seems the person i spoke to originally was talking loads of non sense!

I only have my 2nd NCB witheld or lost if my insurance company don't recover the garage charges from the Third party (Direct line) who are the ones to blame, it took them 6 months to send my settlement cheque but i reckon another 6 for them to re-imburse my insurance company!!!

I'm hoping i get the 2nd NCB before 04/01/08 (few weeks) when my insurance is due for renewal otherwise i'll have to stay with elephant until they have their charges re-iimbursed but until then i only have 1 NCB!

You dont have to stay with them if you dont want to - if you find a better quote from another insurer (based on the step-backed 1 year NCB) and explain the situation to them you should find that they will allow you to send them the amended NCB to them as and when Elephant send it to you, backdating the amended NCB to when you tool the policy out and therefore reducing your premium.
