    Default Servicing costs??

I have just had my 2.0T serviced at my local VX dealership today It was a second service so i was expecting quite a big bill - it came to £135

What has everyone else been paying for their 2nd service's??

On another note they could not find anything wrong with the steering

So how did they explain the car wandering all over the place then?

As for services, I did my last one (major service) myself so just cost me the parts. The price doesn't sound too bad - do you know exactly what the did in the service? i.e. did they do air/pollen filter as well?

They had it hooked up to tech 2 and found no codes, also had the wheels off checking everything - again no faults. All the servicing team and the mechanic had a shot of the car and they said it wasnt noticable - so im now thinking it might be a combination of the 225 tyres on the front and shi77y roads up my way - im stumped TBH

I will be doing this myself once the warranty has run out - as for parts replaced on this service not too sure because the printout is in the cari will add what has been done in the morning

Just been on the phone to my VX dealer enquiring about the cost of it's next service, the car is on a 53 and just hit the 49K mark. I was quoted £230. I asked what exactly will be done and told that the oil, oil filter, and air filter will be changed, plus the sump washer. Then he rambled on about safety point checks and lubrication of door hinges blah blah.

I'm not the most mechanically minded, and I'm sorry if I upset anyone in the trade, but £230 for a drop of oil and a couple of filters strikes me as a little high. Or am I being unreasonable???

    Regards

    Nidge.

Apart from checking the braking system and suspensionetc. which I doubt they check thoroughly the rest is simple.

I'm sure I read in the hand book that the door hinges should not be lubricated! I know it surprised me too. But if it is correct, then why are the Mechanics lubricating the hinges, as you would have thought they would have known this? The price is way too expensive. My 30k Service was ony £148 for the same items as you mentioned, therefor I would shop around or get an independant to do it far cheaper.
