    Default Suspension help required ASAP

    ok
im outside with me mate in the freezing cold.
we have removed the strut but are having problems removing the top mount bolt, we have the tool for the insert and the socket but can only use one at a time (due to the black surround)
    What can we do?

    HELP ASAP

With the Astra, I had similar issues. Jacking the car up and getting someone to stand on the brake disc/caliper gave enough downwards force on the top mount to stop it spinning. A sharp tug on the ratchet freed it no bother.

Gregg, We usually use an Air Gun to get them off..

Take them off, and go to a Tyre and exhaust centre and ask if they can whizz them off for you..

well we have got the 21mm nut moving but its access to the little start shaped screw we are having problems with as we cant do both at the same time.
combined with that its frezzing out here, i would take to a local garage but there all tits around here, never ever want to help you out unless your taking work there way and you paying for it
hopefully 21mm spanner on an angle is available at B and Q then we can carry on as we were, if not its gonna have to be put back together and left for some other time

When I did mine I used a 21mm socket on the nut but used a pair of mole grips on the socket so I could
fit a long torx bit through the centre of the socket. It worked a treat for me.

Gregg... you need to get a set of 'vortex' sockets from halfords that go that big.. then you can still get an insert bit into the end of the damper shaft..
